Evangelism and Seeker Bible Study

The Next Step: Getting to Know Christ

Someone once said that “the unexamined life is not worth living.” Yet leading an examined life in our unexamining age is quite a challenge.

“Evangelism” is a crucial part of our common life at St. Anselm. We periodically refresh ourselves in having spiritual conversations with people around us. We have found several resources helpful in this including Rebecca Manley Pippert’s Empowered Series. If you are interested in how we have grown in witnessing to the faith we encourage you to watch this into video. We’ll be having a group go through this training soon!

If you are a new Christian or just beginning to look into how to follow Jesus read on!

The pressure and pace of life leave little time for reflection… We are left searching for something worth living for and for someway to be at peace with ourselves, to calm the inner conflicts and feelings of personal inadequacy that make us so dissatisfied with ourselves. How can we discover and live with a deeper sense of life’s meaning?

Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28) It is a remarkable statement made by a remarkable man. Jesus insisted that if we desire to find joy, peace, and inner transformation, then he’s our man. So if his claims are true, if Jesus is really who he says he is, to miss him would be to miss life itself.

Maybe you’ve never read the Bible before; perhaps you remember Bible stories from your childhood, but you’ve never looked at the life of Christ with a discerning, adult mind. Whatever your story, one thing is certain: it’s impossible to make an informed conclusion without first knowing the facts.

We invite you to join us in our study of Christ with others who are genuinely seeking, asking honest questions, and desiring a fresh look at the real Jesus.
