What We Believe
First and foremost, St. Anselm is a Gospel-centered congregation. We read from and preach on the Scriptures each week, and we rely on them to shape our ministry, our mission, and our lives. We receive the teachings of the historic Church tradition doctrinally and liturgically as the primary way to interpret and apply the Scriptures. The Book of Common Prayer is central to our identity.
Second, St. Anselm is devoted to the context of our community. We do not compromise our beliefs; rather we continually seek ways to better understand the needs and values of our community – physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Many of our ministries and social events have organically grown from our commitment to and love for the city of Lakewood, Ohio.
Third, we are members of the Anglican Communion, specifically as a part of the Anglican Church in North America. We worship with over 85 million other Anglicans worldwide, and we deeply respect the traditions of the historical church.
